You might be outside for 20 minutes but you're in artificially dried air for eight hours. Hot showers. Everyone takes longer, hotter showers in winter. Hot water strips the skin's natural oils faster than lukewarm water. By the time you've finished your ten minute steam session, your barrier has taken a hit.
